We use our engineering center in Zelenograd, Russia to do the design, layout, simulation, post layout verification, tape-out and test program development which allows us to leverage world-class engineering talent at competitive prices.
Our design center is associated with the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (MIET), the “MIT” or “Caltech” of Russia. We have over 30 engineers of Ph.D. or Masters level on staff and many more of the brightest and most creative young engineers to work on our projects. Zelenograd has the largest talent-pool of engineers in Russia. It is a city that was conceived by Soviets to be a reflection of the US Silicon Valley and was a “closed city” until 1991.

Many large international companies (Motorola, Samsung and more) are opening up design centers in Zelenograd to take advantage of the talent pool in the area.
Unfortunately, much of the work being performed would be classified as the heavy hauling of IC design. The more interesting projects are mostly being done in the US, Europe, Japan or Korea. The result is there is lots of underutilized engineering talent in the area who are looking for more challenging projects. Consequently, our team leaders in Russia have been able to attract the best talent to our design center because of the kinds of projects we can offer our engineers.
