ABOUT THE PATENT EXCHANGE

About the Patent Exchange

The Patent Exchange is a free and open marketplace developed to support the entire ecosystem of intellectual property stakeholders. Intellectual property is a critical business issue for companies and organizations of all sizes across all industries and all national borders. Yet today, there is no de facto market where interested buyers can view all the available IP in their market segment. Our goal is to create a more efficient IP market by opening up our system by allowing large corporations, universities, independent inventor/entrepreneurs and IP brokers to participate for no charge.

There have been scores of articles written about the need for a single place where buyers and sellers could identify strategic technologies. A few have attempted to create the "eBay of IP," but none has developed critical mass. We studied their business models, and compared and contrasted them to those of the successful well-known portals. We identified the critical success factors for a thriving marketplace and created what is now known as the TAEUS Patent Exchange.
